South Yungas Rides

Traditionally, North Yungas has been the most visited place by all over the

world tourists and the South Yungas beauty remained hidden. But it did not

remain unknown to the tiny group of Bolivians who built majestic cottages

inspired by their surroundings magnificence, the warmest temperature in the

Yungas area and the torrid air where the coffee grains smell can be sensed

together with delicate tropical flower scents.

This is the place where notable Bolivians and historical places set their roots.

Ride and discover the astonishing purity of an almost virgin paradise.

Bside created a wide range of rides for different skill level bikers. Enjoy them!

An amazing new ride

The South Yungas Riding Challenge: A contemplative bicycle adventure throughout the paradaise.

After just 20 kilometers on paved road, you will approach the dirt 4x4 road to your final destiny... Chulumani! Once you leave bihind the highway, the carved by dinamite mountains covered by tropicla forest soround your path.

Sounds and cries of tropicla animals and insects begin to resonate in the air, far away from the cosmopilitan cities you are used to. Tropical flowers, banana, coffee and coca plantations grow in the mountain forest.

You are the loner explorer or a paradisiacal place, an almost forgotten piede of earth. The demanding fitness exercise adds up t the whole experience and the ride becomes a contemplative bicycle adventure. Dust covers all of your face and warm moist air is breathed.

Do you dare to bath in fresh puddle where The Lovers waterfall ends? Or chase The Bride Veil waterfall in your camera? Spot exotic birds visit the Phantom Castle. Continue ahead until the bride called Puente Villa that splits the downhill from the uphill section up to Chulumani sets the end of the bike ride.

From there to Chulumani, a few twisted sections remain until the end of the jouney.

A ghostly ride...

Built in the 1930s by the former Bolivian president Luis Tejada Sorzano a dreamlike castle raises in the middle of the tropical lands called Saouth Yungas.

It was the beloved Tejada's place where in warm nights he used to play the flute an get into the nearby forest to be found by his sweetheart thanks to the sound of the melodies played.

Natives of this area and house guests still belive the have seen the ghostly Tejada's figure walking inside the building or listened the melancholic sound of a flute coming from the surrounding woods...

WARNING!!!

Safe, professional mountain bike companies invest and reinvest on high quality bike parts, employ trustable guides an focus on details that enhance the client security and joy. To deliver a reasonable service we must contribute funds to keep a bicycle in excellet shape and bring a guide who know well the road hazards and backs you. Overall, to protect you from harm and preserve your life. What would be more important then you? Not some bucks, of course.

On rainy season, a bicycle in challenged to their limits. Every part suffers more than ususal: breaks, gears, tires, suspension, increasing maintenance costs. Guiding continues pleasant but tougher. Bringing an appropriate service is feasible but costlier. If we do not cover expenses, your bike and our service will suffer and so will your riding, posing unneeded risks to your personal wellness. It may be noticed that in rainy season the most prestigious companies, responsibly release new price schemes in order to keep their quality service and safe guard people.

Although Bolivia has earned the "cheap country" title, reputation that fills the traveler guide sheets but risks tourists unaware of hidden threats behind a "great offer", it does not imply that a cheap price migth deliver you a better service or at least the same service level than the more than the more expensive ones. You get what you pay, wherever you are.
